No.-3-Complaints-against-the-police-1982
This pamphlet covers the work of the working party on policing, which has been primarily concerned with the procedures for dealing with complaints against the police.
The bulk of this pamphlet, Section 5, reviews the then present system for making and dealing with complaints against the police, in northern Ireland, compares them with systems used in the United States and in several Commonwealth countries, and considers ways in which the northern Ireland system can be improved on.
Section 3 is based on a paper presented to the C.A.J. conference in April 1982, and describes one local initiative aimed at improving the relationship between police and public, while Section 4 sums up the discussions and resolutions on policing questions at that conference.
