Conference report – A Renaissance of the Peace Process? What kind of society do we need?
A Renaissance of the Peace Process? What kind of society do we need? was a one day working conference held on 27 September 2019 in the Canada Room, Queen’s University Belfast. It was organised by CAJ in collaboration with the Irish Council for Civil Liberties (ICCL), QUB Human Rights Centre, and Senator George J. Mitchell Institute for Global Peace, Security and Justice.
The conference report, containing all presentations, is available now for download.
During the conference speakers and participants considered the overall concept of how instigating a ‘renaissance’ of the peace process could help achieve the original promise contained within the Good Friday Agreement and advance NI’s transformation into a rights based society. This concept that is more important than ever now, in 2022, following further years of political instability in NI, the UK’s withdrawal from the EU, and a global pandemic.
