This publications is a report of a conference organised by the committee on the Administration of Justice (CAJ) sub-group on racism in Dukes Hotel, Belfast on Saturday 30th Novermber 1991.

The theme of the conference was Racism and Equal Opportunities: the need for legislation in Northern Ireland.

The conference was attended by 130 people representing a broad range of organisation and interests. Its aims were threefold:

  1. to stimulate debate on racism
  2. to hear the expereince of ethnic minorities
  3. to lobby for effective anti-racism legislation
